For 15 years, yMusic has developed a reputation as in-demand collaborators with artists ranging from Paul Simon to Caroline Shaw. Now, the genre-fluid chamber group has stepped out as creators in their own right with a self-composed album. I love this album. My students are confused by it at the beginning as I play it with my office door open, but they wind up getting curious.
I also introduced one to "Just Constellations," and they were mesmerized. Way to go, RoT! arnisking
I saw them perform for free in Bryant Park in NYC; I had no idea who they were; boy was I pleased. By the way, Attacca is a musical term that means to literally attack a note. dlummox
